The Vuelta a Espana is not the only race undergoing big problems today, the Renewi Tour is on the road and as it stands, the peloton has stopped on the road in protest of the dangerous stage finale.
The final day of racing in Belgium ending in Bilzen features a small hilltop close to the finish then followed by narrow and windy roads into the final kilometer. Riders worry about the safety situation in the final lap and are discussing with the race organization.
UPDATE: After a few minutes of discussion the race resumed. It is reported that the bonifications have been eliminated on the day, so as to see riders take less risks in the green kilometer and stage finale. The times for the overall classification will also be taken at the time of the final hilltop.
