"There is no stress in our team" - Wout van Aert not concerned about impact of merger rumours on Jumbo-Visma

Over the past week the cycling world has been shaking with the possibility of a merger between Jumbo-Visma and Soudal - Quick-Step. Naturally, questions are asked to all the big figures who could end up being part of this new team, Wout van Aert is not to worried about it.

“That's not too bad, we are still working on the current season of course. But it does keep us busy, for sure," the Belgian told VTM this morning at the start of Coppa Bernocchi. "Everyone is professional enough to complete those race as they should. There is no stress in our team.”

The departure of Primoz Roglic has been confirmed in the midst of this, whilst Remco Evenepoel's contract with Soudal-Quick-Step also looks quite shaky. Managers and riders express different opinions and sides to a story that is frequently changing.

The Belgian in the meantime is trying to remain out of it however and focus on his schedule on the road. He's continuing a busy period at the Italian Autumn Classics and is one of the main favourites for Bernocchi today, whilst he builds up towards the Gravel World Championships.
