"It's special even just to be on the podium" - Jonas Vingegaard is somewhat satisfied with his 2025 Tour result

For the fifth time in a row, Jonas Vingegaard finished Tour de France as one of the two best men in the race. The 2020s have truly became an era of Vingegaard versus Tadej Pogacar at Tour de France as no rider came close to beating them since 2021. For the Dane, it's a third second place in his palmares and he can't really be sad about the outcome as his Slovenian rival never gave him a sliver of hope over the past three weeks.

"It's always special to come to Paris. It's the end of the biggest races in the world, and there are so many people. Normally the weather is good, but today it was terrible," said the Dane in an interview with TV2 after the stage. "Somehow, it's just so special to be here and on the podium."

The Visma | Lease a Bike leader has now ridden the Tour five times and has stood on the podium in each one. "It's clear that when I look back on my career and think about what I've accomplished, I think it's something to be proud of: that I've ridden the Tour de France five times and been on the podium five times."

"It's clear I would have liked to win. I don't hide that, but it's still something I can be proud of. But I would have liked to win," said Vingegaard, who concluded the 2025 edition 4 minutes and 24 seconds behind Pogacar.
