Eddie Dunbar left INEOS Grenadiers and moved to Team BikeExchange-Jayco to get more opportunities. The team has already found a new role for the Irish rider.
In team manager, Matt White's opinion, Dunbar has a lot of potential. As of now, Dunbar has only been part of one grand tour, the 2019 Giro d'Italia where he finished 22nd in the GC. It looks like he will get another chance to shine next season thanks to his team. In an interview with Irish Times, White discussed the future of Dunbar. "He hasn't been able to show his worth yet.”
He continues, "At the moment, the Giro d'Italia is the plan. There he will be our man for the GC. He has only ridden one grand tour in his career. Obviously, he has missed opportunities in that area.”
Dunbar’s victory in Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali and Tour of Hungary played a huge role in White’s decision."This year he was given a number of opportunities in stage races, and he took them with both hands. He won two," concluded White.
