Soren Waerenskjold makes it two for two for Norway as he wins under-23 Time-Trial World Championships

Norway has entered the World Championships with full steam, as they have taken their second win out of two in the time-trials. Uno-X Pro Cycling Team's Soren Waerenskjold conquered the under-23 race to take the world title.

The first time that was contesting for the win was set by under-23 Giro winner Leo Hayter, who was one of the favourites for the day. The likes of Michel Hessmann and Mick van Dijke - the latter harmed by a mechanical - couldn't take to the top spot, and it was in the final wave that the last remaining win contenders came through.

In similarity to his compatriot Tobias Foss, Soren Waerenskjold rode a very strong time, specifically pushing through to the lead on the final half of the race. He took over the lead from Hayter by 24 seconds and got himself in the hot seat with a very complicated time to beat.

As riders came through the intermediate it became clear no-one could contest that time, except for Belgium's Alec Segaert who had seven seconds of advantage on the first intermediate and three in the second. In the third however that turned around and he was now nine behind. In the finale however there were 16 seconds separating the two, and the remaining riders could not contest the top spots. Segaert and Hayter completed the podium.
