Romain Bardet and James Shaw abandon Tour de France after second crash as chaotic start to stage 14 continues

Stage 14 of the 2023 Tour de France has started in a truly chaotic fashion. After an early mass crash caused the stage to be neutralised for around half an hour, the racing is now back under way.

Not long after the racing began once again though, there were more crashes. On a descent after the first categorised climb of the day, Team DSM-Firmenich leader Romain Bardet and EF Education-EasyPost's James Shaw crashed hard.

For a gutted Bardet, it has now been confirmed as race over. With Shaw also being confirmed as having abandoned the Tour de France
