Rohan Dennis could face 15 years in prison - Former World Champion to be charged with dangerous driving over death of his wife Melissa Hoskins

On the final days of 2023 the cycling world was struck with an immense tragedy as former pro rider Melissa Hoskins passed away. Her husband, former rider and time-trial World Champion Rohan Dennis will be charged with dangerous driving in the ongoing investigation of her death.

The incident happened just outside the couple's home in Australia last winter, Hoskins was struck by a pick-up truck and did not survive the injuries. Dennis was on that day arrested and it was implied that he was behind the wheel, although it was unclear what exactly had happened.

Exact details are not yet public however it is widely reported in Australia this morning that Dennis, a winner in all Grand Tours and twice time-trial World Champion - who retired at the end of last season - will be charged with causing death by dangerous driving and aggravated driving without care.
