The summit finish at Mont Brouilly may be the only one at this year's
Paris-Nice as the cold weather threatens to cut Saturday's queen stage to Auron.
Primoz Roglic is aware that he has to seize every opportunity, and needs to take back time today on the likes of Remco Evenepoel and UAE Team Emirates' many climbers.
"Looking back we definitely didn't do our best job, when we have opportunities we try to gain time and not lose," Roglic said in words to Cyclingpro.net this morning. "We lost one minute, it's still better than losing two minutes for example, but a lot of learning points. The team said we need to discuss and analyze afterwards. Today a new day, the sun is out, and we have to do our best." The Slovenian lost 54 seconds to the UAE Team Emirates riders and 36 to Remco Evenepoel, putting him in a complicated position regarding the overall victory.
Besides with the weather possibly cutting Saturday's stage, today's finale in the Massif Central could be even more crucial in the fight for the yellow. "Always, you're always ready to attack but you need to have legs. We'll see, definitely a challenging parcours, it'll be hard, hopefully when we have the legs for sure we'll do our best. We will see huh. The results doesn't show much of the legs," he says in his classic talking style, indicating good form.
"Today is important for GC, yesterday was probably even more important. But for sure, you have to seize the moment so we go day by day and then we see what will follow," he concludes.
