Peter Sagan crashes in final sprint and loses Slovakian title, Matus Stocek takes win as Mathias Vacek takes Czech title

The Slovak and Czech national championships came together and took place in a joint race on a circuit around the Slovak town of Tlmače. Victory for Matus Stocek over a Peter Sagan who crashed over the finish line. Mathias Vacek won the race and took the Czech championships.

The race took place on an almost completely flat 227.9-kilometer course with seven laps of a 31-kilometer circuit. As the peloton of riders entered the final turn, it was clear that the two Slovaks who were going for the national title were Peter Sagan and Matus Stocek.

The Czech rider of Caja Rural - Seguros RGA Michal Schlegel tried on the last climb of the day on the last lap, but was caught by the peloton. Michael Boros, Karel Camrda and Michael Kukrle took a few seconds lead with 24 km to go;

The Czech ATT Investments team dominated the main peloton of about 50 units in the last few kilometers. In the final meters, with some criminal corners in the last meters. Matúš Štoček moved ahead of Sagan on the home straight. The 8-time Slovakian title winner collided with Czech Pavel Bittner as he tried to overtake his rival and went to the ground. Stocek took the surprise win, whilst Mathias Vacek was the victor in the Czech side.
