Peter Sagan abandons, bringing a sad end to his extraordinary World Championship career

Peter Sagan, the only rider to have won three consecutive World Championships in a row, abandoned his last championship in Glasgow by the back door after dropping out 109 kilometres from the finish line.

The Slovak, who has been on the decline in recent seasons, did not even want to wait to say goodbye in the pit area after passing the finish line one last time and left on the side of a fence without drawing attention to himself. Sad end for one of the best in history. From now on he will put the focus on mountain biking to try to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games;
