UPDATE: World Championships race neutralized over protest, protesters glued onto road cause chaos

The World Championships men's Elite Road Race has been neutralized. A protest on the road sees the race stop temporarily in the roads leading into Glasgow.

The incident has happened with 192 kilometers to go. TV broadcast has not provided footage of the protest ongoing but it is assumed that a road block of some sort is in place and forced the race organizers to neutralize the race.

UPDATE: It is believed that the protesters are glued onto the road. Despite there not being TV footage of what is happening up the road, reported live footage from one of the motorbikes appears to show a small group of people who have reportedly glued themselves to the road. The race has been stopped for already 25 minutes.

UPDATE II: The protesters have been removed from the scene and the organizers took up action to fix the road conditions. Restart of the race will happen at 12:15 local time, leading to around an hour of delay.

The organization have issued the following statement: "Further to Police Scotland’s confirmation of a protest in the Carron Valley area, which has temporarily interrupted the Men’s Road Race, we are working closely with all relevant authorities to minimise disruption to the race and also to ensure the safety of riders as our paramount concern."
