Throughout the 2025
Tour de Suisse there will likely be many riders forced to withdraw from the race, for various different reasons. We make a list of all riders who leave the race, as well as list out a few of the main crashes that take place during the race.
Stage 1
Benoît Cosnefroy, Élie Gesbert and Johan Jacobs abandoned today's stage.
Quinn Simmons was among those who crashed during the day whilst on the attack in the breakaway.
Stage 2
Two riders were DNS over night, with both Anton Palzer of Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe and Max van der Meulen failing to take to the start line for stage 2. During the stage itself, former Italian national champion
Filippo Zana then abandoned.
Stage 3
There were a trio of DNFs on stage 3. Among them, Soudal - Quick-Step's reliable mountain domestique James Knox. Also forced out of the race were Menno Huising and Laurens Huys.
Also on the stage however, INEOS Grenadiers leader
Geraint Thomas was caught up in a crash, finishing over 15 minutes down with knee pain.
Stage 4
After not properly recovering from his stage 3 crash, Geraint Thomas was a DNS ahead of stage 4. To make matter worse for the INEOS Grenadiers, they also then lost Laurens De Plus to abandon during the stage. Elsewhere, both Michael Woods and Pelayo Sanchez also left the race.
Stage 5
Two more DNFs on stage 5 as
David de la Cruz and Kevin Colleoni both depart the race.
Stage 6
There were four riders to abandon on stage 6, most notably, UAE Team Emirates - XRG talent Jan Christen, who departs his home race. Also a DNF on the day were Alessandro Verre, Nolann Mahoudo and Roel van Sintmaartensdijk.
Team Visma | Lease a Bike's Tiesj Benoot was caught up in a crash towards the end of the day, although the Belgian was able to remount and finish the stage more than four minutes down.
Stage 7
Albert Torres, Thomas Gloag, Silvan Dillier and Bob Jungels were involved in crashes today. Torres, Roger Adrià, Jasha Sutterlin, Steven Kruijswijk, Simon Clarke, Sjoerd Bax and Matthew Riccitello all abandoned during the stage. Andrea Bagioli, Jordi Meeus and Petr Kelemen did no start the penultimate day of racing.
Stage 8
Alex Edmonson and Marc Hirschi both chose not to start the final stage time trial. On a tough, mountainous course, the trio of Mikkel Bjerg, Marco Haller and Fabio Van den Bossche all finished outside the time limit.
