Elisa Longo Borghini has recently won the Tour of Flanders but her run of form continues. After attacking with and dropping Demi Vollering, the Lidl-Trek rider soared to an impressive victory at the Brabantse Pijl.
Laura Molenaar, Coryn Labecki and Karin Soderqvist formed the day's breakaway that went off early in the morning, however behind there was never too much calm behind the trio.
Action kicked off with 65 kilometers to go as Demi Vollering herself launched an attack from the peloton, kicking off a flurry of attacks that would not stop. Sofia Bertizzolo and Alessia Vigilia would go on to bridge across to the breakaway which then expanded it's gap after almost being caught.
That would be short-lived however as with 30 kilometers to go pre-race favourites Vollering and Elisa Longo Borghini attacked and moved clear of the peloton. The duo caught and dropped the breakaway riders as the peloton organized a chase.
However this would not be enough to keep them under control. Longo Borghini dropped the Dutch champion on the penultimate climb of the day with just over 7 kilometers to go, and then rode so a magnificent solo win.
Vollering held on to second place, whilst from behind in the peloton it was Alexandra Manly who won the sprint for third place.
