Daniel Martínez is currently resting and recovering from his heavy spring schedule which has seen him take an important number of wins and results. He's taking a step up this year at INEOS Grenadiers, but rumours also emerge over the interest of other teams.
The rumour comes from Diario Del Triatlon, who make the case for Martínez' possible transfer from INEOS Grenadiers to Movistar Team. With Alejandro Valverde in his final season as a professional rider, the Spanish team will be looking for a new leader to replace the veteran and there should be budget available to make a big move in the market.
Martínez has so far had a stellar season, with a win at the Itzulia Basque Country, aswell as Top5 results at the Volta ao Algarve, Paris-Nice, Flèche Wallone and Liège-Bastogne-Liège - aswell as the national individual time-trial title. He is set to be one of the leaders of the British team at the Tour de France where the team will aim high.
Not having any signed contract for 2023, it is presumed that the future is wide open for the Colombian, and with the internal competition inside INEOS it would not come as a surprise for him to manifest the desire to be an absolute leader - although facing Enric Mas at Movistar Team.
