Mikel Landa has had, like all those in the general classification, a quiet day in the
Tour de France. The Basque cyclist has spoken with his colleagues from the Spanish radio stations after the seventh stage about the sensations he has had so far in the Grande Boucle:
"The first part has been calm, we have been able to enjoy it, the final part has been classic with tension. I wanted to be better, I have not been at the level. We will see this Sunday where I sit."
He was asked if the interviews in the Basque Country before the Grande Départ could have influenced his subsequent performance, something he wanted to categorically deny:
"I would make a thousand excuses for you, but I simply couldn't, my performance has not been at my level, I hold on to that to be on Sunday and Alps at my level."
He continues to affirm that his objective is the general, although if he does not do well in the Puy de Dome he will focus on trying to win a stage:
"My objective is the general, if I stay in the top 10 on Sunday I will fight for the general and if it does not go well I will focus and go in stages."
