Was this Mark Cavendish's best chance at making Tour de France history by taking his record-breaking 35th stage win? It looked good for the Manx Missile before Jasper Philipsen pipped him at the line.
Cavendish launched his sprint early, but it looked like being a genius move as he took the lead and held it with the finish line nearing. Heartbreakingly for fans of the Astana Qazaqstan Team sprinter however, the unbeatable Jasper Philipsen powered his way past Cavendish to his third stage win of the 2023 Tour de France.
