Miguel Angel Lopez is with his family spending a few days of vacation at Disney World. The Colombian cyclist has shared a video on social networks in which he explains that the UCI has conducted an anti-doping control.
The Team Medellin - EPM cyclist is currently provisionally suspended for doping due to the accusations received in the context of Operation Ilex and its link with Dr. Marcos Maynar;
Lopez regretted that the UCI had tested him but did not give him any information about his sanction, which has been provisional for 5 months:
"Surprised by something that happened to me this morning, I had not wanted to go out in public to say this, but well, I think it is time because it has been a long time. Everyone knows the situation I'm in, the provisional suspension that the UCI has given me, it's been more than five months, since July practically, and today I know absolutely nothing. This morning I just did an anti-doping control here near where I am, at Disney in the hotel and the truth is that I am surprised that they have come here".
THREAT TO THE UCI.
The Colombian climber explained in his video that he has no problem taking tests and that he expects the International Cycling Union to clarify his situation as soon as possible:
"I am not afraid that they will do all the controls they want, I have collaborated, I have done the things they have asked me to do, I have collaborated with information, with the controls, I have passed many after this situation, as a runner I passed quite a lot and then I think I have passed too many. Today, as I tell you, I just had another control at Disney. I think that if the UCI takes the trouble to come here to make me the control I want them to also take it so that they solve the issue for me. That they speed up, that they investigate and give me the green light to do what I love. I am not hiding anything, I am clean. I'm not afraid, I'm clean and I have nothing to do with it."
