Throughout the 2024 Tour de Suisse, there will be many riders to withdraw from the race, for several different reasons. We make a list of all riders who leave the race, as well as list out a few of the main crashes that take place during the race.

Stage 1

Despite being a non-technical and short prologue, not all riders managed to avoid hitting the tarmac. Isaac Del Toro crashed and ended up losing important time for the overall classification.

Stage 2

The peloton began the second stage of the race with two riders failing to be at the start. Kevin Colleoni of Intermarché - Wanty and Fausto Masnada of Soudal - Quick-Step. During the day we have seen crashes from Simone Petilli, Welay Hagos Berhe, Attila Valter, Elia Blum but already inside the final 2 kilometers one with serious consequences.
Ethan Hayter, favourite for the stage and leader's jersey, was involved in a three-rider crash alongside Tudor's GC hope Yannis Voisard and Emanuel Buchmann. The German, having a rough few months and set to leave BORA - hansgrohe, has abandoned the race as a result.

Stage 3

Emanuel Buchmann who crashed the day before in the race was confirmed to have suffered a fractured hip and collarbone, possibly ending the German national champion's season. It was also a bad reveal day for Nairo Quintana, who was diagnosed with a hand fracture following a crash on stage 2 which saw him lose time.

Stage 4

Timo Kielich was a DNS on the day for Alpecin-Deceuninck; whilst Swiss Cycling's Antoine Aebi and Lidl-Trek's Bauke Mollema abandoned during the stage. During the day we have seen a rough crash for race leader Alberto Bettiol who had extensive road rash. In the final climb, Isaac Del Toro and Wilco Kelderman hit the deck before the GC fight exploded.

Stage 5

Three riders did not start the stage. These were Jacopo Guarnieri of Lotto Dstny but most notably EF Education-EasyPost duo Richard Carapaz and Alberto Bettiol. Both have crashed the previous day and abandoned the race because of the injuries; in order not to sacrifice their health ahead of the Tour de France.
Five riders did not then finish the hard day of racing. Stan Van Tricht, Fran Miholjevic, Lilian Calmejane, Jordi Warlop and Lawson Craddock were all DNF's on the day.

Stage 6

A fast stage with no major mishaps. Noteworthy were the DNS by Georg Steinhauser of EF Education - EasyPost, Pascal Eenkhoorn of Lotto Dstny and Sébastien Reichenbach of Tudor Pro Cycling Team.

Stage 7

Stage 7 began without two quality riders in the peloton: Yannis Voisard and Samuele Battistella. However, during what was the hardest stage of the week, Jake Steward of Israel - Premier Tech abandoned whilst Ion Izagirre was also forced to abandon following a crash.

Stage 8

The final stage of the race was a time-trial, mostly uphill, so it presented no danger for the riders. No riders abandoned during the stage, but two did not start: Bryan Coquard and Jordi Meeus.
