Among the recent news, UAE Team Emirates have signed a six-season contract with a promising young Italian, and that's because the cyclist did not want to commit to eight, which was the initial offer. Yes, Matxin and company wanted to tie Luca Giaimi until 2031, but the athlete agreed to join the squad with an expiration date - for now - in 2029.
"Such a long contract offers peace of mind, but at the same time I feel pressure to prove that I deserve it," Giaimi told Bici.Pro. "They even offered me eight years, I chose six," revealed the 18-year-old rider, who will only be 24 in 2029.
"I am happy and I hope to learn a lot in the first two seasons with UAE Gen Z, to be ready for the next four years in the World Tour," explained the member of the development team, who will also race with the World Tour team on some occasions in 2024 itself.

Remco has one of the biggest, if not the biggest egos in cycling... And he is playing in a Classics specialist team...

Its not a good idea to sign for so long in a team that is filled with stars especially some with a lot of ego. If something goes wrong, it will a miserable time for a young rider.
