As the new UCI points update has been posted, a few changes have been seen in the bottom of the standings, with the final two months of racing leading to urgent measures from some of the team's in seek of all the points they can gather.
The main move of the week was that of Team BikeExchange - Jayco who have jumped into 15th place in the standings after Matteo Sobrero has went on to finish fourth at the Tour de Pologne. The Australian team has been making big moves in the market and secured all of it's leaders, having all the confidence that they will remain in the top division of pro road cycling.
They only sit 371 points ahead of Movistar Team who are in 18th place however, with EF Education-EasyPost and Cofidis inbetween, in what is an extremely tight battle that changes almost weekly. The four teams carry some buffer over Lotto Soudal, who have recently won the Tour of Leuven with Victor Campenaerts, but have still 634 points to recover from the Spanish team who has made calendar changes to include more races where they can gather points.
In last place still sits Israel - Premier Tech, 296 points behind Lotto Soudal, however their sudden signing of Dylan Teuns has brought a new spark back to the team who suddenly have a new leader who will surely be targeting big points in the final months of the season, which include the Vuelta a Espana and several one-day races where the Belgian can succeed.
