Team Visma | Lease a Bike's new time-trial helmet is the talk of the town at Tirreno-Adriatico today. Without a shadow of a doubt, it's innovative look stole all the attention during the early hours of the morning, as the team appeared with fresh new designed Giro helmets.
“It was a long road. There were no limits to the collaboration with Giro. We are very happy to show the Aerohead 2.0 today," team DS Paul Martens shared with Wielerflits. “You can see from the appearance that it is completely different from other helmets. It's a new way of thinking about aero helmets. We think we have found a big improvement in our entire time trial system. Hopefully we can show that today.”
It is another attempt for the Dutch team to get ahead of the competition, this time around with the use of technology. Visma won all three Grand Tours last year and naturally dedicate many hours into research and development of new equipment that can help them against the clock. This large helmet with an equally large visor is the product of that, and is being debuted today in the Italian race.
"The helmet is both fast and safe. It is always important for a helmet to be safe, but it is also part of a system with the riders and the equipment. We will see," Wagner, who is also responsible for what equipment the team uses throughout the season, concluded.
