Eva van Agt showed her fighting spirit in the third stage of the Tour de Suisse. The
Jumbo-Visma rider escaped with a breakaway midway through the stage and came close to having a shot at victory. However, with six kilometres to go, Van Agt and her escape companions were caught.
"Our main goal was to defend Amber's fifth place, and we did that," race director Lieselot Decroix said. "It was a challenging stage with an undulating course. After the first big climb, a lead group formed, and Eva was in it. It was a perfect scenario for us."
