🚨Matteo Tosatto is leaving Ineos Grenadiers at the end of the year and will take up a role at Tudor
Matteo Tosatto leaves after seven years as sports director of INEOS Grenadiers. GCN journalist Daniel Benson reported this on social media. The 49-year-old Italian will reportedly switch to the ambitious Tudor Pro Cycling after this season.
Since his cycling retirement, Tosatto has been active as a team leader at Team Sky, which later transformed into INEOS Grenadiers. Before that, Tosatto had raced for no less than twenty seasons, for Fassa Bortolo, Quick-Step-Innergetic, Saxo Bank and Tinkoff, among others. At the end of 2016, he ended his career with the latter team, in which he won a stage in the Tour and the Giro.
Now Tosatto appears to be leaving INEOS Grenadiers to work at Tudor. Fabian Cancellara is the ambassador at the Swiss ProTeam and has recently invested heavily. Matteo Trentin and Alberto Dainese, among others, have been recruited, while the team has mainly scored this year with the Dutch sprint train of Arvid de Kleijn.
Next year Tudor hopes to ride more major classics and a debut in a grand tour is not excluded. Tosatto is then, together with the German former cyclist Marcel Sieberg, the most famous team leader at Tudor.
