Giacomo Nizzolo set to return to racing for season debut at the Famenne Ardenne Classic after four months out with injury

Having signed for Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team from Israel-Premier Tech for this year, Giacomo Nizzolo would have been hoping to have a strong start to his first season with his new team, but that was hampered after the Italian rider suffered a crash in December of last year, which left him with a broken tibial plateau that required a long period of rehabilitation.

However, Nizzolo is now reportedly on the verge of returning to competition four months after the crash, as according to Ciro Scognamiglio from La Gazzetta dello Sport the former European champion will be riding his first race of the season at the Famenne Ardenne Classic at the end of the month.

He had originally been scheduled to race the Tour of Turkey, but that was deemed to be too early for a return, so the team decided that he would ride the Belgian race instead. The Famenne Ardenne Classic will also see the return of Arnaud De Lie, as he is set to return to competition after suffering from Lyme disease during the cobbled Classics last month.
