Enric Mas eyeing new targets after Valenciana: "The big goals are for sure the Tour and the Vuelta a España"

The Spanish climber had an outstanding season in 2021 and will be looking to replicate or improve on it. Signs so far are good as the Spanish team appear motivated and are gathering good results.

"To be honest I was already in good shape in the beginning of the season, now we go for some altitude after today's stage," he responded to a question posed by CyclingPro on how he felt his form was at.

Enric Mas started the season in the Challenge Mallorca where he was active during the Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana and Trofeo Pollença, being a key factor in Alejandro Valverde's runner-up place and win respectively.

In the Volta a Comunitat Valenciana they came as co-leaders, although neither had the legs. to keep up with Remco Evenepoel and Aleksandr Vlasov when they won their separate stages. It must be said Valverde rode the last kilometers of the queen stage with a flat tyre, but the Movistar duo showed consistency and good form and are already looking into the next races on the schedule.

"The big goals are for sure the Tour and the Vuelta a España but before we have some races like Tirreno, and Pais Basco and the Ardennes, so I want to be good there, to have this confidence for training and be ready for the Tour".
