Elisa Longo Borghini won stage 5 of the
Women's Tour with a spectacular finish on Black Mountain's peak. Longo Borghini's victory and extra seconds placed the rider at the same time as Brown in the GC.
“This climb is a long one but it’s not that steep, so you can’t really make the difference. Plus we had a headwind. It was like attacking but hitting the wall. I trusted my sprint and went with 150m and I felt strong,” Longo Borghini said.
The Italian went on to take the second win of her season and climbed into second place overall. The GC is still undecided and the race can come down to the smallest detail.
