The Giro della Toscana is one of the many Italian Autumn classics and today luck smiled to Arkéa - B&B Hotels. Clément Champoussin proved to be amongst the strongest climbers in the race and then managed to take the victory in the final sprinter against Michael Storer.
The riders had a mostly flat route but with two ascents of the 9-kilometer ascent to Monte Serra which averaged 7% average gradient. In the first passage the peloton already split into a small group but in the second ascent the favourites went all-out to create differences.
Clément Champoussin and Michael Storer attacked off the front of the group and then in the final sprint the Frenchman was the strongest. Jordan Jegat managed to finish third on the day
