- less than 1% of people that suffer from an accident like Pauline’s our Wouts end up hospitalized and needing surgery. the fact that either did is statistically unlikely. the fact that 2 did on the same team is every more unlikely. and the real world, including cycling teams, run on statistics. power meter, heart rate monitors - they produce statistics. and the question remains, in all the accidents that occur weekly in cycling races, how many people end up hospitalized specifically with infections?mij20-06-2026
