Carlos Rodriguez returns to Vuelta a Espana! INEOS Grenadiers announce lineup with Joshua Tarling, Jhonatan Narvaez and Thymen Arensman

Carlos Rodríguez will be the leader of INEOS Grenadiers in the Vuelta a España 2024. The rider from Granada, after a very hard Tour de France in which he could not shine as he expected, will return to the Spanish race with the aim of trying to fight for the victory.

For this, the British team lands with a very strong team and with very strong domestiques or co-leaders such as Thymen Arensman or Laurent de Plus. Eye to what Joshua Tarling can do in the time trials (including the opening stage where he could take the red jersey). Jhonatan Narváez come come as a premier hunter for stage wins in the many hilly days whilst Oscar Rodríguez will be supporting in the mountains; Kim Heiduk and Brandon Rivera will focus on support on the flat days.

Team objectives

Scott Drawer, the squad's performance director, explained the team's objectives: "We are going into the Vuelta a España with a strong, very competitive and balanced team. We want to be aggressive and take advantage of the opportunities that present themselves, whether it's to gain time overall with Carlos and Thymen, or stage wins with riders like Josh and Jhony."

They will be looking for the red in the opening time trial in Lisbon with Tarling: "We have a great chance to take the leader's jersey in the first stage with Josh. At the Paris Olympics he proved again how strong he is in the TT discipline."
