Just mere days before the start of the
Tour de France,
Bahrain - Victorious have issued a statement in which they confirm that the homes of several of their riders and staff have been searched and investigated
This happened before their departure of the race. It is not said which riders or staff may have been subject of the searches. This comes as a continuation of the investigation that has last year seen the team raided during the Tour de France in Pau, however with no results yelded.
The team stated that "the investigators illegally provided information regarding the seized items, on the basis of which an article was published in a professional medical journal". The press release is marked by the idea that there is an incriminatory aspect to the investigation, and doubt the credibility of the investigators - whilst the team receives no feedback.
Bahrain - Victorious state that they "always cooperated completely transparently with all competent institutions and will continue to do so in the future". Whether any update will come from the situation remains to be seen, but no conclusive results appear to have came out of the investigation.
