Tirreno-Adriatico is currently taking up all of
Benoît Cosnefroy's attention, as he has set his sights on the Italian race the upcoming spring classics in tandem with his teammate
Ben O'Connor.
"I have a priority objective which is the general classification with Ben O'Connor,” he told Cyclingpronet. He continues, "I hope to do well on one or two stages, even if it will be hard because, on stage 6, which is promised to the puncheurs, there is still 3600 meters of positive difference in altitude. There will already be some fatigue at the start of this stage, so it remains a stage which, according to me, is more climber-like in the end."
In addition to aiding his team, Cosnefroy has set some personal targets, with the Milan-San Remo being the first followed by his debut in the Flandrien classics and the Ardennaises. "It's great to prepare the Classics here, long stages with a lot of kilometres.”
“I think it is a better preparation than Paris-Nice. I'm very happy to be here, with the programme that's coming up, with quite a few one-day races, up to Liège-Bastogne-Liège, that's going to be my real objectives,” concluded Cosnefroy.
