Soudal - Quick-Step have had a very tough Opening Weekend without any meaningful result, but will try to turn that around at Le Samyn where they've announced a strong lineup in support of Kasper Asgreen and Fabio Jakobsen.
This will be Asgreen's debut in the cobbles, he was a last-minute absence this weekend following illness. The 2021 Tour des Flandres winner will be looking to get back to his race rhythm and will be one of the big favourites. Despite being a tough race, the duo of Fabio Jakobsen and Michael Morkov come as well in a leading position in case a sprint is to be had.
“Samyn is a hard and technical race, with a tricky finale that is perfect for the attackers, so we’ll have to pay attention to these moves, because they will come," team DS Wilfred Peeter said in a press release. "We are happy to have Kasper back, while Fabio will be our option in case of a bunch sprint, so we hope to get a good result at the end of the day.”
