Another blow for Cofidis as Guillaume Martin could switch to Groupama - FDJ for 2025

The sell out at Cofidis seems to continue as another big name is looking to move elsewhere at the end of the season. Axel Zingle's move to Visma | Lease a Bike is already taken for certain, but now it seems like the French team's star climber Guillaume Martin won't extend at Cofidis either.

Martin and Marc Madiot, the team boss of Groupama - FDJ, have known each other for a while. Martin did an internship with the team in 2014, but continued at the amateur level for another year before signing his first professional contract with Wanty - Groupe Gobert a year later.

After five seasons, the collaboration between Martin and Cédric Vasseur (manager of Cofidis) seems to be coming to an end, as the climber has found a new employer – with Groupama-FDJ – according to Le Soir.

Martin's best quality is his consistency across the season. The Frenchman was known for holding a record for longest period without a 'DNF' next to his name between February 2018 and June 2023.
