Alpecin-Deceuninck confirm Quinten Hermans' signing

Alpecin-Deceuninck are joining the World Tour in the coming season and they are reinforcing their team with new riders, one of them being confirmed today as long-term rumour Quinten Hermans is set to join the Belgian team.

The Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux rider was known to be leaving, and if any other confirmation was necessary, his Tour de France snub confirmed the lack of a strong relationships between the team management and the Belgian rider. With the goal of continuing his successful cyclocross career, Hermans will join the team that connects the two disciplines the best at a pro-level: Alpecin-Deceuninck.

He will be linking up with classics specialists Mathieu van der Poel and Gianni Vermeersch, aswell as several other riders who dedicate their winter to the off-road. Hermans is then a perfect fit, also being one of the country's top riders in both disciplines. He has finished second at Liége-Bastogne-Liège this year, aswell as winning the queen stage at the Baloise Belgium Tour.

Hermans is currently racing the Tour de Pologne where he sits in third place after four stages and is in the battle for the overall classification.
