AG2R Citröen Team snatch Franck Bonnamour following B&B Hotels-KTM collapse

The end of B&B Hotels-KTM brought many riders and staff to the verge of ending their time in pro cycling, which has been a big and negative point of this off season. However some riders have found their way into the peloton, Franck Bonnamour being one as he takes a step up to World Tour level with AG2R Citröen Team.

The transfer was expected, with the French puncheur having already hinted at a move over the last few weeks, aswell as teammate Pierre Barbier. From a bad situation sparked a new opportunity as the 27-year old finally takes a leap towards the World Tour in a two-year contract.

"It was a goal in my career to join a World Tour team. So to achieve this, in a French structure moreover, is a great achievement and a huge source of motivation," Bonnamour said in a press release. "The objective will be to attend the best races on the international calendar and also to discover new events on the World Tour calendar by putting myself at the service of my leaders."

Bonnamour has specialized in the hilly classics where he's succeeded, winning La Polynormande this past season season. In 2021 he rode to second at Paris-Tours and sixth at the Bretagne Classic whilst finishing on four occasions on the Top10 of Tour de France stages. His consistency and versatility earns him a spot between the big boys.
