The sixth stage of the
Tour de Suisse will likely be a day to remember for years. However, not for good reasons... A total of 30 riders have abandoned the race before the stage even began, off the back of an extra 16 the day before as Covid-19 is rampaging through the peloton.
Although not all abandons are related to Covid, the grand majority are riders who tested positive and their respective teammates for precaution reasons in some cases. 94 riders took to the start of the sixth stage, without race leader Aleksandr Vlasov who was one of the victims.
