- Tourmalet 2115 but it comes early in the stage
Mont Ventoux 1910, Stage finish
Glandon 1924 comes early in the stage, then the Madeleine 2000 and finally Courchevel 2304, stage finish, in 2023 Tadej lost a lot of time here to Jonas.
La Plagne 2052, stage finish
Tadej lost time on two big mountains in 2022 and 2023 that cost him the Tour, they were both above 2,000 meters. Last year in the Tour he did well on Isola 2000 and the Galibier stage, he won both. Could be he has finally developed to be able to tackle those high mountain climbs, the body does weird things above 2,000 meters when your on the limit.
This coming Tour is going to be hot, fast and tough.
- maybe he did not show humility at the attacks of Visma, laughing them off, seeing them as pathetic. But he is here to win, so does he need to show humility? Anyone of them will turn on the screws if he were in trouble. He is a winner and it is ok if he shows off as long as it is not egregious disrespect. But i would say that even that is ok since it creates polemics for the race that will be discussed long after.
- That was to be expected. What is concerning is that he lost 1 min in a single stage and couldn't even follow any of Pogi's attacks
- Doesn’t seem that way. Saying “get over it” doesn’t mean he isn’t right, it’s more of a move along. Maybe he should be questioning his own race more? Why did he let Yates do what he did. Why would del Toro in the leaders jersey drag Carapaz who is notorious for attacking from behind, up the road? Maybe he should ask del Toro? Maybe he didn’t have it in the tank and all he could do was try to hold on to Carapaz? Seems Carapaz is saying “I tried to break him, and then wondered why he couldn’t do more”. Maybe he answered his own question?
- this team gets it wrong for every rider not named Tadej
- just another bitter old jealous dude realizing Tadej will likely take something he didn’t - all 5 monuments.
- One wonders why an organization such as OneCycling does not break the monopoly UCI holds over the sport by creating their own world governing body. It seems only such a move could stop the absurd impositions of rules such as this.
- Don’t understand why you compare to Remco. I think a few of these old guys are just jealous of the money these days
- He was leaving some crumbs for the small birds!
- b3tlla, frieders3 Kuss has been the main driver for that team for years. It was always him at the head of the peleton on hilly stages. Now not so much. He has given his all and I suspect he is well past his best now. As was said though the tour will tell the real story.
