- Froome has found a genuine way to race slow .. no further gears restrictions needed for him. And speaking about safety - this overnight packfodder to GT winner should start with holding the tt bars while descending with both hands. What a clown!!
- Nice, yeah, if you’re around a 6-7% gradient when they attack you’re not going to see much, it’s not for nothing the steepest sections are so crowded. If on TV you see an overweight fan running along for more than 30m you know they’re nowhere near that speed there;-)
- Merry Crossmas to you too
- I respect his anti-doping stance but in trying to rehash everything he’s no longer looking at the changes. It’ not just one or two riders who suddenly improved, the whole peleton has gone through an upgrade. For sure there are still cheaters, may e even amongst the very best but a large part of the improvement is generic and explainable. Even racing itself has changed. There is progress in EVERY sport, constantly, why would cycling be the odd one out?
- Don’t doubt your cynical side ;-) It’s hardly likely to be true either and he is hardly in a position to judge for others who is best this or that. If he’d just said, he was always good to ME that would have been more truthful and then everyone could draw their own conclusion, now he’s basically shot himself in the foot for nothing (as far as we know).
- He's the best teammate with Domen Novak cruising Pogi to become Cycling World Champion.
- Sweep has never accepted the fact that carbo loading now while training and racing isn't a huge benefit to the riders now vs years ago. He always point to doping !
- I was also lucky enough to see the TdF go up the Col de l’Iseran. 2770 meters over the sea level, almost at the end of the stage, steep gradients, and yet the climbers sped by us that we could barely register who they were. Alaphilippe, Yates, Bernal, Uran, just whizzed by at, what felt like 30km/h. Probably was little less than that, but they were quite fast. Unfortunately not everyone is that fortunate, and they have to do with TV broadcast where one has all the time in the world to make out a single rider they are interested in out of the whole peloton.
- Do you think the 2024 Vuelta was comfortable for him? It was not. More young guns will be coming out this year, he's an older rider who needs everything to go his way. He could potentially win the Giro again but he will not fare well in the Tour if he makes it.
- When you say a weak field what do you mean by that ? There are only 2 other riders above him and arguably Remco is at least as good or better. He won the vuelta quite comfortably despite fracture in his vertebrae and performed his best numbers ever in some stages. His TT is pretty good and he can hold his own, obviously I don't think he's as good as tadej or Jonas yet he's up there.
