Worries emerge over Fem van Empel as Dutch rider may suffer from serious injury at Val di Sole

The Val di Sole race saw an incredible amount of crashes, however in the snow the consequences were not big for most. Fem van Empel however, World Cup leader, has abandoned the race with worrying signs.

Away from the cameras, van Empel crashed in the opening laps of the race whilst fighting for the leading positions. Footage has seen her seriously hurt, and the Dutch rider was carried off in a stretcher. At the time being there are no informations yet on the injuries she may have suffered, but it is not a good sign heading into the christmas block.
