The Benidorm World Cup may have been the final battle between Wout van Aert and Mathieu van der Poel before the cylocross World Championships in Hoogerheide, and it delivered immense spectacle as the two had a high-speed battle leading to a sprint in the final lap.
The fast Benidorm circuit didn't see any of the two go clear, and it came down to a sprint in the end between the two. The whole final lap saw a constant fight for positioning and overtaking, delivering immense drama in what was one of the most intense battles of the season.
