With confidence in his abilities, Hermans will focus on the European Championship in just two weeks. "My goal is that European Championship. I have been saying for two months that I would like to work toward that," Hermans told Sporza afterwards.
He continues, "The European Championship is in my own country, and I know that with a few crosses, I can get in good shape. Last year was the same. I hope that this year it will work again and that it will be a step higher than last year."
This Sunday, Hermans will compete in the UCI
World Cup Tabor in preparation for the European Championship. "Tábor is a little more cross-technical, which leans a little bit towards Namen. You have to pull up a lot more there after the corners, and that's where the guys from America come in again, who dominated there. It will probably be more difficult, but I'm just going to do my best again," concluded Hermans.
