By the end of lap 2, Vandebosch had been joined by his Crelan - Corendon teammate
Laurens Sweeck at the front of the race with Pim Ronhaar leading the charge behind.
On lap 4, having joined the leading duo, Ronhaar attempted to break the elastic, powering ahead with a brutal seated attack through the mud and by the end of the lap he'd managed to extend his advantage to around 15 seconds.
Whilst Ronhaar continued to press home his advantage, Vandebosch was dropped by Sweeck and fellow chaser, Lars van der Haar.
On the final lap, van der Haar dropped Sweeck and suddenly a brutal effort from Eli Iserbyt saw the podium, well and truly on. Despite the battle though, Sweeck would hold on.
