Eli Iserbyt is the Belgian National Champion. In a very exciting race in Meulebeke, the front of the race was incredibly closely fought before Iserbyt managed to break free and the win.
Right from the start in Meulebeke, Eli Iserbyt attempted to push his authority onto the race. Behind, Laurens Sweeck and Niels Vandeputte led the early chase. During the mid-race though, the front of the race swelled and the aforementioned trio were joined by Thibau Nys, Joran Wyseure and Michael Vanthourenhout. Four laps to go and Nys, Iserbyt, Vanthourenhout and Wyseure were locked at the front.
As the four leaders traded attacks, no one could really snap the elastic. Until Iserbyt finally managed to break free with two laps to go. As Nys began to drop away, Wyseure and Vanthourenhout were battling it out for the second and third spots. In the end, Wyseure took the silver.
