Wout van Aert to test climbing legs as complicated Bretagne Classic

Jumbo-Visma will have a very modest lineup to support Wout van Aert at the Bretagne Classic, but the ambitions are high as the Belgian is trying to link up some good form towards the World championships and is looking to test himself in the hilly terrain.

His second place at the BEMER Cyclassics last week were a good sign that he has got some form after he created the winning move on the final ascent, but here he will have different terrain. The roads around Plouay will be very difficult to control, and benefit aggressive racing. Van Aert will be, to many, the man to beat and he will have a responsivity over setting the pace near the finale.

He is however a big contender. Nathan van Hooydonck will be the rider from his regular block that will join him, however the Dutch team - having many of it's leaders at the Vuelta a Espana or recovering for future goals - have brough a more modest support crew over to France. Pascal Eenkhoorn and Timo Roosen are expected to be of good support for van Aert, and the lineup is concluded by Koen Bouwman, Lennard Hofstede and David Dekker.

Jumbo-Visma for Bretagne Classic: Wout van Aert, David Dekker, Pascal Eenkhoorn, Koen Bouwman, Timo Roosen, Nathan van Hooydonck and Lennard Hofstede.
