- Good sportsmanship, good friends
- Perhaps it is because he makes himself sound a bit too knowledgeable and not particularly modest either.
Some riders really don't know how to say stuff. When Remco explains the reasons for why he didn't perform, it comes across as making excuses. When Seixas says "I can't imagine a comparison [with Pogačar]", it sounds like he is saying the opposite, for me at least
- It is different when you factor in that they are good friends. Campenaerts was quite the mentor for de Lie at Lotto. And I think it's quite hard to forget when Campenaerts said that de Lie had "chosen the room with the naked women on the wall" when he went to stay
- He is incorrect. Jonas is not lucky, the others are very unlucky
- Agreed. Magnier was in peak form during the Tour of Poland; the T-Rex kit made his dominance look even more intimidating.
They’re very different personalities but what makes you say Seixas isn’t as likeable?
- Without the long transfer there would not a rest day. Vingegaard is focusing on the health risks of the airport. The travel distance is what necessitated the rest day so those two cancel each other out
- Out of the three, Giulio Pellizzari had by far the best sprint, finishing 5th. Of course Vingegaard and van Eetvelt didn't really sprint, but that showed what Pellizzari's way to beat Vingegaard is - survive and sprint
- Can we wait to see if he makes it first?
Anyway, it’s not all about luck, some just weren’t paying enough attention.
- This is a lazy take.
The issue is not whether he is driving the bus or taking a flight. The issue is that a rest day in a Grand Tour is supposed to be for recovery, not for a long transfer, airports, disrupted routines and extra infection risk.
Professional riders are not robots. Recovery, sleep and health matter over three weeks.
And “Pog would take it in his stride” is not an argument. It is just guessing what your favourite rider would say.
A rider can be tough and still criticise poor race logistics.
- Chris Horner would say that none of that matters because he has Isaac del Toro
