"We've settled in and it makes our life easier" - Jonas Vingegaard moves to Switzerland

Jonas Vingegaard is one of the, if not the best climber in the peloton and that comes as ironic from a rider who comes from a completely flat region. That will no longer be the case however, Vingegaard is moving to Switzerland which will be his new base.

“I think the fact that we haven't traveled as much as in the past certainly helps," Vingegaard said in words to the Danish media. "In the past we always traveled to different places, now we have stopped doing that and this helps us. We've settled in and it makes our life easier."

Vingegaard is a family man and notably still lived in his hometown of Glyngore, Denmark, with his family. A calm and somewhat different life than what most riders choose - mostly for good weather and mountains nearby where they can train at their best.

Hence the Jumbo-Visma rider will move to the canton of Ticino, close to compatriot Mads Pedersen reportedly. It is also reported that he will get a residence in France. This is set to improve his training conditions whilst also cutting down the transfers between periods at home, races and training camps which take up countless journeys throughout the year for a rider of his caliber.
