Paris-Roubaix was, as every year, a dramatic race. Attacks and heartbreaks it was a constant. At Carrefour de l'Arbre saw the decisive moment of the 2023 edition, as
Wout van Aert punctured and
Mathieu van der Poel went solo off the front.
The moment took place with 15 kilometers to go as van Aert attacked. The momentum was soon changed as the Belgian needed a wheel change. He was dropped, and lost around 25 seconds in the switch. With this taking place he then got back together with the chasing group, but van der Poel took the opportunity to take a hard-earned win.
