Video | Matej Mohoric at the start of E3: "We're looking forward to the race"

After a surprising win at Milano-Sanremo, Matej Mohoric will now be setting sights on the cobbled classics campaign which he is set to do alongside the very best in the coming weeks. He's spoken about his ambitions at the start today.

"Yes I'm ready, I think we brought a very good team here, we're looking forward to the race," Mohoric said at the start in an interview with CyclingPro. "I won't use the dropper bike today I think it's not a big advantage on the cobbled but we're still looking for a good race."

After a colossal effort that has earned him the biggest win of his career this past Saturday, questions rise over if he's recovered from the effort: "I think so. It's almost been one week so I think I feel good now. I want to see how the legs will feel, I think today is a bit like testing themselves for Flandres. We will see how the other guys go, and of course try to do our best."

"Yeah of course, Sonny had a big misfortune and it gives you a good perspective of life in general. We hope for a good recovery and I am sure that the medical team around him will decide what's in his best interest for his heart," he concluded, being asked about his teammate Sonny Colbrelli with whom he's teamed up last year for great success.

Bahrain - Victorious for E3 Saxo Bank Classic: Matej Mohoric, Heinrich Haussler, Filip Maciejuk, Jonathan Milan, Kamil Gradek, Fred Wright and Yukiya Arashiro.
