- I second that!
- I think Tadej had other late season goals - World Championships, the Italian classics. Euro championships, and the Canadian races. look at how cooked Jonas was for worlds. it just wasn’t a priority for Tadej last year, this is my opinion at least.
- this is another UCI embarrassment. she has raced the same bike all year, it has always been 50g over. it has been weight repeatedly. and according to reports it was over weight, then under. it went back and forth. crazy.
- Ganna takes it like a man instead of complaining. he knows the game.
- And yet, according to Google, the National Football League is the most successful sports league in the world far outpacing others and it has a very strict salary cap. Not saying that it will work for cycling, but saying that salary caps are communist is stupid.
- Its been great for the fans ,a beautiful race. No protesting flogs either.
- Great ride JV. Got the trilogy now. Hopefully a good build up to the TDF after awell earned rest. Well done Jai Hindley to get on the podium. Where will he end up in 2027?
- I’m not even sure what to say. Thank you for sharing that; it really touched me. They’re beautiful words, and I don’t know how to respond to them, but I think that’s okay, because sometimes the most authentic response can be to acknowledge the depth of another.
(and thank you for the translation!)
- Agreed. And even the TT was not a huge concern in that a long, flat run is not his thing. If the TDF has released its route I haven't seen it, but I do not recall one quite like it at that race in some time. If it is a short one, or uphill, or both, should not be a problem.
- Danish professor in psychology and cycling fan, Svend Brinkmann, wrote this on fb today (ai translation)
When Jonas Vingegaard wins the Giro d’Italia today, he will have won all three Grand Tours and must be regarded as the greatest Danish athlete of all time. With all his victories, we gradually forget to appreciate just how incredible this achievement is, and how lucky we are as cycling fans!
And to all the young men who supposedly lack masculine role models, who get lost in the manosphere, lift weights, looksmax, and follow Andrew Tate: you have a better role model right there in Jonas Vingegaard.
He shows that you can be strong without having huge arms; that you can be a global star without chasing attention on social media; that you can work hard and still put your family first; that you can live in Glyngøre and be recognized around the world; that you can be a little awkward and shy and still win people’s hearts; and that you can absolutely be a real man while dressing head-to-toe in light pink.
Congratulations to Jonas Vingegaard — and grazie mille for the effort and integrity!
