UAE Tour: Juan Sebastián Molano takes massive sprint win and turns home team's luck around

Stage 4 of the UAE Tour delivered an extremely chaotic sprint, and UAE Team Emirates' Juan Sebastián Molano took a brilliant win.

A calm day in Dubai, the winds have let down and allowed the riders to have a more relaxing day in the race as the riders also had a day outside of the desert but in a more urban environment. Alex Baudin (AG2R Citroën Team), Alessandro Tonelli and Samuele Zoccarato (Green Project - Bardiani CSF-Faizanè) have launched themselves in the breakaway of the day.

A modest trio, but one with good tactics which have earned them a lot of exposure and even small chances of fighting for the stage win. The trio was only caught inside the final three kilometers, as the leadout fight became more and more furious.

A full peloton of sprinters fresh led to a very difficult finale to manage. Fernando Gaviria was the first to launch his sprint, with several of the big favourites stuck behind several wheels. It was a photo-finish sprint once again, and the surprise victor was Juan Sebastián Molano who has brought in a very important win for the team.

Molano managed to very narrowly beat Olav Kooij and Sam Welsford, as the peloton arrived relatively compact and with no changes to the overall classification.
