Juan Sebastián Molano was an outsider for the sprints of the
UAE Tour, but all the pieces of the puzzle have fit together today on stage 4 as the Colombian brought some success for
UAE Team Emirates.
"I don't know how I did it, but this is amazing. I am very happy for the team, the country and all the people. I also want to thank the staff of the team and my teammates, I couldn't be happier," the Colombian said in a post-race interview. The abandon of Jay Vine, the time loss in the crosswinds and the disappointing team time-trial saw the team on the back foot, but today that has been turned around.

As the violent leadout battle took place, it appeared as if the men relying on their supporters the most ended up blocked. With little support, Molano managed to find himself in the right wheels, and had quite a big unleash of power in the final meters, directly beating Olav Kooij and Sam Welsford in a tight sprint.
It was a big victory, the first since he beat his own teammate Ackermann at the final stage of the Vuelta a Espana last summer: "Pascal Ackermann was a sprinter at the time, but now it was up to me. He has a different calendar, but this is also better for my chances. I got my chance here in the UAE Tour and that is very important," the Colombian concluded, having returned to his winning ways in the best way possible.
